For this project, you will need (per clock):
- One eight inch plastic wall clock with a removable face (available at most home supply shops)
- Soap and water
- Paper towels
- Medium or fine grit sandpaper
- Tack cloth or other similar style soft cloth
- Krylon Indoor Outdoor Primer in All-Purpose White
- Krylon Indoor Outdoor Paint in Gloss Black
- Krylon Short Cuts Hobby and Craft Paint Pen in Red Pepper
- Krylon Spray Adhesive
- Sheet music
- Cardstock
- Pencil
- Craft knife
- Self healing mat
- Number shaped stencils
- Newspaper and/or a large drop cloth
Use old newspaper sheets and/or a large drop cloth to protect your work area from paints and glues used within this project. Disassemble the clock. Set the clear lens and the clock mechanics aside in a safe area to protect them during crafting. Wash the outside clock frame with soap and water. Rinse the plastic well and dry it with paper towels. Scuff the plastic with medium or fine grit sandpaper. Wipe away any dust on the clock frame with a tack cloth or other similar style of soft cloth.
Prime the clock frame with an even layer of Krylon Indoor Outdoor Primer in All-Purpose White. Let the frame dry completely. Paint the frame using Krylon Indoor Outdoor Paint in Gloss Black. Wait twenty minutes and apply a second coat of black spray paint. Dry the frame overnight.
Turn the sheet music upside down on the self healing mat. Using the paper background from the existing clock as a template, create a circle in pencil on the sheet music. Create a second pencil circle onto a piece of cardstock. Cut out both circles with a craft knife. Spray the unprinted side of the sheet music with a soft layer of Krylon Spray Adhesive. Adhere the sheet music circle to the cardstock circle.
On the print side of the sheet music circle, trace numbers in their appropriate clock positions using a pencil and numbering stencils. Fill in the design using a Krylon Short Cuts Hobby and Craft Paint Pen in Red Pepper. Dry overnight. Reassemble the clock. Hang and enjoy.
