You can just as easily make a statement from inside your home as you can from the outside. Horses are the hot new phase with most all young girls. Even if your family does not own a horse, your home can say that you wish you did.
From living room to bedroom to bathroom, there are horse lover decorations for all. I like to begin in the living room where each end table is home to a western boot lamp. Moving over to sofa one can see a beautiful horse throw laid upon the back.
The bedroom is equipped with horse riding sheets, comforter, shams, and window treatments. The walls are covered with horse prints. A pair of spurs hang neatly from a hook. A lasso is perfectly rounded and also hanging neatly from a hook where a cowboy hat hangs down in the middle. A horse night light is a must for any sleeper. Even the bathroom has a horse shower curtain. Horse robe hooks and towel rings as well as curtain rings can also be purchased.
Small odds and ends added all around the home can add to the "horsey" environment. Try a western boot toothpick holder on the table and a boot pencil holder on the desk. Western bookends are great for the study and a beautiful flower arrangement in a boot vase is perfect for any room. Try adding unfinished wood products around the home for a rugged look. Cast iron pots and pans make great decorations for the kitchen.
Cowhide rugs are also great additions to add to your western theme. Try adding a small cactus garden in one area of your home complete with sand. Try adding in some Native American or Navajo throws and rugs. Keep in mind that the western feel can come from more than just the site of horses.
A saddle rack and a saddle can add a western feel to any room. Using leather can add to the look and to the smell of the west. When painting, use rich earthy tones to set off the style.
So you know what to buy, but where do you buy it? Most western clothing and tack stores have some home décor items. However there are also many sites online that off great decorating ideas for the west. Try one of the three below to give you a good start on decorating your horse lover home.
