Most Ingredients Are in Your Kitchen!

Treat yourself to a basic home facial with natural beauty products you can make yourself. You can probably find most of the ingredients you'll need right in your kitchen!

Cleanse the skin
You'll want to wash the face to remove any grime or dirt. The recipe below is perfect for all skin types.

Kiwi Facial Cleanser
Ingredients
1 kiwi fruit
2 tablespoons of plain yogurt
1 tablespoon orange water
1 tablespoon apricot or almond oil
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon finely ground almonds
2 drops orange (or your favorite citrus) essential oil
Yield: Enough for one application

Puree the kiwi fruit in a food processor until liquid. During processing, add yogurt, orange water, almond or apricot oil, and ground almonds. Process until thick and cream like. Add essential and stir to mix. To apply, massage gently over neck and face to cleanse. Rinse well.

Exfoliate: Exfoliating the face removes dead skin cells leaving your face soft and smooth. The following recipe is wonderful.

Honey Almond Scrub
Ingredients
4 T Almond meal (sometimes called Almond flour)
2 T Jojoba oil
4 T Honey
5 drops of Peppermint essential oil

In a 4 oz cobalt or amber glass jar (preferably) pour in the Almond meal and Jojoba oil. Stir well. Then mix in the Honey and Peppermint essential oil. Keep stirring until the mixture is completely mixed.
Apply about a teaspoon amount of the scrub to a moistened face. Mix with water to make it a more fluid application (do not add water to the jar). Scrub the skin gently, letting the almond meal do the work (harder pressure will only damage capillaries!). Massage every square inch of skin except the delicate eye tissue. Remove with warm water. Blot dry.

Steam
Fill your sink with warm water, dip a washcloth in and press to your face. Repeat 2-3 times.

The mask
Natural face masks restore moisture and deep-cleanse your face, you should use a facial mask regularly.
Choose the mask that suits your skin type.

Normal-Skin Mask: For normal or combination skin types.

Ingredients: Egg, Honey, Brewers' yeast or cider vinegar

Yield: Enough for one application

Beat an egg in a small bowl, using a wire whisk to blend yolk and white thoroughly. Add 1 teaspoon of honey and 1/4 teaspoon of brewers' yeast -- or, if you don't have brewers' yeast, 1 tablespoon of cider vinegar. Whisk again to blend. Apply the mask to your face, being careful not to get it in your eyes or on your hair. Let it dry for about 20 minutes, and then rinse it off thoroughly with warm water. Splash your face with cool water and blot it dry.

Dry-Skin Mask: Enjoy the delicious aroma of this mask as it's moisturizing your skin.

Ingredients:Banana, Honey

Yield: Enough for one application

Wash a banana thoroughly. Slice the banana and half of its peel into the container of a blender; add 1 tablespoon of honey and blend to a liquid. Apply the mask to your face, being careful not to get it in your eyes or on your hair. Let it dry for about 20 minutes, and then rinse it off thoroughly with warm water. Splash your face with cool water and blot it dry.

Oily-Skin Mask: Deep cleansing and refreshing.

Ingredients: Cucumber, Yogurt

Yield: Enough for one application

Wash a cucumber thoroughly. If the cucumber skin is waxed, remove it; if possible, however, leave the cucumber unpeeled. Slice the cucumber into the container of a blender; add 1 tablespoon of plain unsweetened yogurt and blend to a liquid. Apply the mask to your face, being careful not to get it in your eyes or on your hair. Let it dry for about 20 minutes, and then rinse it off thoroughly with warm water. Splash your face with cool water and blot it dry.

Moisturize: Finish up your home facial with this soothing lotion.

Peach Lotion: For dry and normal skin
Ingredients
1 Peach
4 drops tincture of Benzoin (known to be STRONG sensitizer)
2 oz. coconut or sweet almond oil
1 1/2 oz. orange flower water and 1 or 2 drops orange oil

Wash, drain, mash, and then strain the juice from 1 peach through muslin or cheesecloth. Add to it 4 drops of tincture of benzoin, 2 oz. coconut or sweet almond oil, 1 1/2 oz. orange flower water and 1 or 2 drops orange oil. Beat together until it is fluffy and pour into a clean 4 oz container. It will keep for a longer period if you store it in the refrigerator. Use the lotion to moisturize your skin after your facial or whenever it feels dry.

Now you can let your natural beauty shine through!
