Home Holiday Tour in Ridgway, CO

Sandy James

The Fortuna Tierra Club is hosting their annual Home Holiday Tour on Saturday, December 3, 2011 from 12 Noon until 4 PM. This annual event benefits the local community and has been a well-attended event since its inception seven years ago.

As a local nonprofit, the Fortuna Tierra Club is a women's club that began in 1970 as women on Log Hill Mesa joined to communicate, socialize, and give assistance to those in need. Their working ranch husbands would be gone all day long with ranch chores and these women needed a way to get together and socialize. Cell phones were not an option then so regular meetings were scheduled and that's how this nonprofit was formed.

Today, the Fortuna Tierra Club aids the community by giving scholarships to graduating Ridgway High School students and aiding other students who may need financial assistance in school activities.

Two years ago, the Fortuna Tierra Club decided to host a Craft and Gift Boutique along with their annual Home Holiday Tour. The Craft and Gift Boutique features local crafters selling handmade gifts for the holidays. You can visit the locally made crafts at the Divide Ranch and Club before heading out to tour the five homes.
