Since you'll need to access your waterfall for cleaning and maintenance, you don't want to put it in a place you'll have trouble reaching. For instance, putting one above and behind your big home television theater might not be the best idea (potential safety issues aside), and neither is putting an indoor waterfall up high on the wall near the ceiling.
And under some circumstances, you may be limited to where you can put your waterfall. It probably goes without saying, but you'll want to make sure your fountain is out of the reach of any children or pets you have.
Indoor Waterfall in Your Hallway & Living Room
Among the most popular areas to put indoor waterfalls are the hallway or the living room. In the hallway you can put one where a mirror might usually go, or even opposite of the mirror you have now, if it can fit. Over the fireplace in the living room, if you have one, is also a great place.
Or if you have two windows side by side on the same wall, you may be able to fit an indoor waterfall in between. My grandmother has windows like that in the living room where she currently hangs a piece of Oriental decor she received from her former boss's wife a while ago (she's an advid collector of such things).
If you have an overhang, then you could probably place a small one there instead of a picture, if you don't mind having to use a ladder to get to it when needed.
Indoor Waterfall in Your Bedroom
Unless you're one of those types who needs absolute quiet in order to get to sleep, this can be a great place to put an indoor waterfall.
You can place a small one directly above the headboard of your bed or next to a window or night table. It just depends on how much space you have on the walls and how your bedroom is arranged. And if you're really eager to have a fountain in there, you can rearrange the bedroom to make it fit very nicely.
Indoor Waterfall in Your Bathroom
Some people like to have a waterfall in their bathrooms, which was kind of surprising to me when I first discovered that. I've even seen some pictures where they'll have a whole wall that's nothing but a waterfall! (And they may go a step further and have it be a mirror waterfall).
But if you're looking for something smaller, you can definitely still make it work for you, even though you this is probably the smallest room in your house. You could place a small indoor waterfall over the towel rack or next to the toilet seat, for instance.
Well, there you have it! Just some of my suggestions for placement of your fountain. Have fun choosing that perfect spot for your indoor waterfall!
