Bath Salts - Get creative and make your own gift for your grandparents. One grandparent's day gift idea that is especially fun to make is a unique blend of bath salts which is relatively inexpensive to make yourself. Take about 3 cups of Epsom salts, a teaspoon of glycerin, food coloring, a few drops of essential oil like rose, vanilla, or jasmine. Mix the ingredients together in a large bowl. Then pour the mixture into a decorative jar and add a pretty bow.

Cookies - Nothing says loving like something baked in the oven. Buy a cookie mix at the supermarket and bake a few dozen cookies. Place the cookies in a decorative tin and add a bow. Present them to grandparents with love on grandparent's day.

Favorite Books on CD - As we age our eyes are not as good as they use to be and it is difficult to read. So, wouldn't it be a great idea to get a copy of one of your grandparents favorite books, and record yourself reading that book onto a CD. Grandparent Care Package - Most Grandparents have very limited income and simply can't buy all the foods that they use to enjoy. Put together a mix of canned goods and boxed goods that you know they enjoy and place them all in a large decorative box and present to grandparents.

Family Dinner - Prepare a complete dinner with all the fixings and a special dessert treat and take it over to their home. Warm up the food and serve it to them on decorative plates you've provided. Don't forget to bring along appropriate drinks like tea, coffee, lemonade, juice. Even a bottle of wine for the adventurous wine connoisseur type grandparents.
