Home to Me

A Poem

Cheryl Engelke
I try to see
Through this glass you're eyeing
I try to see you
But this glass is hazy
Makes you crazy
Seeing things you shouldn't
Thinking things you wouldn't
If you weren't
Looking through this glass

I put my hand
Where yours has been
On this glass
Try to feel your warm skin
but this glass is cool
It Makes you a fool
Cause you can't
Feel through this glass

There's only one thing
I know to do
Take a step back
I'm breaking this glass
Can't you see I'm dyin'
Can't you feel the tears I'm cryin'
Because I need you
And you need me
With nothing else
In between
So I'm breaking This glass
Setting us free
So you can come home
back to me
