Home Remedies for Blisters: Make a Tent
Make a "tent" with a bandage by propping it like a tent and put it on the blister. By doing so you will not only have the blister covered but you will allow the blister to breath or air out. A blister heals better when letting the air hit it. To avoid infection, make sure it is partially covered with the "tented" bandage. This way it is covered and airing out at the same time.
Home Remedies for Blisters: Double Duty Bandage
Go to your local drug store and buy double duty bandages that have antiseptics in them. This will not only cushion the blister but it will keep them clean also.
Home Remedies for Blisters: Soak the Blister
Soak the blister in warm water or place a cool, wet wash cloth on it. By soaking the blister or using a cool wash cloth on it you will ease the itching caused by it. You will want to do whatever it takes to ease the itching because itching only causes them to hurt more.
Home Remedies for Blisters: Oatmeal
Use oatmeal in a warm bath and soak the blister or place an oatmeal soaked wash cloth on the blister. This will ease the itching and help heal the blister. You can either buy oatmeal powder for this or make your own. To make your own oatmeal solution take a cup of oatmeal and wrap it in a cloth. Boil this until it is soft. You can use this oatmeal soaked cloth as a sponge while bathing. If you do this, do not use soap.
Home Remedies for Blisters: Baking Soda
Make a paste with baking soda and put it on the blister overnight. To make the baking soda paste, add water until you have your desired paste. If you leave it on overnight, wear socks to keep your sheets clean.
Home Remedies for Blisters: Salt Water
Apply some salt water to the blister to ease it up. Mix a tablespoon of salt to a cup of water and apply it to a wash cloth.
Home Remedies for Blisters: Drain It
Some doctors will tell you not to drain the blister and some will say it is ok. It is ok to drain a blister if there is a lot of pressure on it. If your blister is on your finger, toe, or under the finger or toe nail then it should be ok to drain it. To drain the blister, take a sterilized sewing needle and pop it. Prick it a couple of times around the edge and then slowly drain the fluid out.
By using these home remedies you can safely heal up a blister in no time.
