Cream of Tartar Canker Sore Home Remedy
Take a small amount of cream of tartar on either a clean finger or by using a cotton swab. Place the cream of tartar on the canker sore. Be mindful that this is a painful home remedy for canker sores with the initial application. However, the canker sore will be gone in a couple of days.
Baking Soda Canker Sore Home Remedy
This one is not the most palatable mixture, so be aware of this before preparing. Take ½ teaspoon of baking soda and add it to ½ cup of water. Use this mixture as a mouthwash and swish it in the mouth. It helps to relive the pain while the canker sore heals.
Another version of the baking soda cure uses baking soda, mixed with a small amount of water to create a paste consistency. Apply the paste to the canker sore four times a day.
Buttermilk Canker Sore Home Remedy
Take a small amount of cultured buttermilk and use it as you would use a mouthwash. Swish the buttermilk in the mouth for approximately 3 minutes. This will burn a bit due to the acidity of the buttermilk, but is cures the canker sore.
Hydrogen Peroxide Canker Sore Home Remedy
Take a small amount of hydrogen peroxide and pour into a cup. Swish the solution in the mouth as if it were a mouthwash for up to five minutes, three times a day. Depending on the depth of the canker sore, it may burn. However, this will knock the canker sore out quickly.
Alka-Seltzer Canker Sore Home Remedy
Take a regular Alka-Seltzer tablet and break it into small pieces. Place a piece big enough to cover the spot onto canker sore. This will burn quite a bit. Nevertheless, if you apply this home remedy to the sore at least three times a day, the canker sore should be completely gone by the end of the next day.
Pepto-Bismol Canker Sore Home Remedy
Take a cotton ball or cotton swab and put some Pepto-Bismol on the application device. Dab the cotton onto the canker sore. This method seems to dry out the canker sore and makes it disappear within a day or so.
