What is a fever?
A fever is when your body's temperature goes higher than normal. For most people, their normal temperature ranges from 86.4 through 99.5. The key is to know where your body's usual temperature stays. From this point, you know when your temperature is higher than normal. The body knows to protect itself which is where the fever comes from. The body protects itself from infection and thus you have a fever.
What are causes of a Fever?
Some causes of the fever could be sunstroke, bacteria, flu, or viruses. Fevers tend to come when you have the flu, colds, as well as other viruses.
Home Remedies for a Fever
Water is always the best home remedy for any illness. Keep hydrated with water and keep your body full of fluids. The more fluids you can drink, the better.
Sleep has a way of naturally healing the body. The more sleep you have, the better you will feel.
Cool baths are instrumental in bringing down fevers. Take as many baths as needed to relieve the body of a fever. Cold water is an effective fever reducer. As fevers tend to get worse throughout the nighttime, it is best to take baths close to bedtime to relieve fever before going to sleep. Cool water brings down the temperature of the body, causing the temperature to decrease.
Grapefruit Juice helps relieve fevers; sounds crazy, but very effective.
Orange Juice gives valuable vitamins and nutrients to the body. Juice helps the body fight the sickness and bring healing.
Herbal Tea is also a wonderful relaxing way to sooth the body while having a fever.
