Sharon Morris
There are lots of things that cause foot pain and we tend to beat them up a lot by being on them all day or wearing fashionable but uncomfortable shoes. Besides being on our feet a lot and wearing uncomfortable shoes, there are many other different causes of foot pain. These include bunions, heel spurs, stress fracture, pinched nerves, ankle sprains, ingrown toenails, and many other painful causes. Fortunately, there are things we can do from home to take care of our feet and to relieve foot pain naturally.

Home Remedies for Foot Pain: Vinegar

Vinegar helps with a lot of different ailments and foot pain is one of them. To use vinegar as a home remedy to relieve foot pain you can use a hot and cold vinegar and water wrap. To get the best results of this home remedy, it is best to alternate between hot and cold water and vinegar. First, heat equal parts of water and vinegar and mix them together. Then, soak a towel in the hot water and vinegar, wring it out and wrap it around your feet leaving it on for at least five minutes. Then do the same thing with cold water. Repeat this process three times alternating between hot and cold water mixed with vinegar.

Home Remedies for Foot Pain: Epsom Salts

Epsom salts are good for relieving foot pain. Put Epsom salts in a warm bath and soak your feet in it for at least fifteen minutes. Epsom salts will dry out your feet so it is best to use a moisturizer afterwards.

Home Remedies for Foot Pain: Sage

Sage is a good herb for relieving foot pain. Take a couple sage leaves and rub them in the palm of your hands. Doing this is called bruising and will release the curative chemicals from this herb. After bruising the sage leaves, put them in a pan along with 2/3 cup of apple cider vinegar. Boil and simmer for five minutes, remove from heat and soak a cloth in it. Apply this to your feet to relieve foot pain. For best results apply this as hot as you can handle but not too hot or you will burn your feet.

Home Remedies for Foot Pain: Water

Using plain old water may just be enough to relieve the pain from varicose veins. Water can not only relieve the pain from varicose veins but it might also slow down the development of them. To use water as a home remedy for foot pain, dip your feet in hot water for two minutes but be careful it is not too hot. Do the same with cold water for fifteen seconds and alternate between the two for fifteen minutes.

Home Remedies for Foot Pain: Foods You Can Eat

When dealing with bloated and uncomfortable feet from being on your feet all day, there are certain foods you can eat to keep your fluid levels balanced. Bananas are high in potassium and can relieve fluid retention. Coffee and tea are also good because they are both diuretics. Poultry and fresh fish are also good for keeping fluid levels balanced because they are both low in sodium and yogurt is another good food to eat because it reduces histamine-producing bacteria which causes fluid retention.

We need to take care of our feet and natural ways to do so are a good idea because they are easy, good for us, and inexpensive.
