If you don't like the idea of using dishwashing liquid, there are many kinds of shampoo's you can use to help cut the excess grease out. These might be more expensive so think about trying dishwashing liquid as it is cheaper.
Make sure you rinse your hair really good. Whatever shampoo you use, rinse it out good so the shampoo won't build up. Also rinsing good will keep the soap residue from collecting dirt and oil.
Try not to condition your hair too often or don't do it at all if you have a problem with oily hair. Conditioner can cause your hair to become more oily. If you must use it, only use it once or twice a week and only on the ends of your hair if it dries out too much.
Don't brush your hair too much. Every time you drag the brush through your hair, you are pulling oil out of your scalp and putting it through your hair. Cut back on the brushing.
