The first and best way to get naturally glowing skin is to stay hydrated. There are many moisturizers that promise to hydrate your skin, but true hydration starts on the inside. Limit caffeine and highly processed soft drinks and juice drinks. Drinking plenty of pure water, at least eight cups a day, will keep your skin, and the rest of your body, hydrated. Well-hydrated skin is less prone to sagging, dryness and fine lines.
In addition to keeping your skin well hydrated by drinking plenty of water, you can get a natural glow by thorough, gentle daily cleansing. Cleaning your skin removes the top layer of oil and grime that can dull your complexion, but it shouldn't be harsh and it doesn't have to be expensive. Dove Beauty Bar is soap-free, but it removes make-up and dirt and leaves your skin soft. Using Dove is easy as using any soap. Simply wet your face, lather the bar in your hands, apply the lather to your face in small circles and rinse using lukewarm water. You should never use hot water on your face, as this can cause dryness. Remember, dry skin can't glow.
Even if you drink plenty of water and wash your face with a non-drying cleanser, you will need a moisturizer. There are many commercially available moisturizers that will do the trick, but chances are you have the makings of a great moisturizer in your kitchen or medicine cabinet. Trying boiling one part aloe vera with one part mineral water until it forms a cream. Store it in a bottle for an all-natural moisturizer. For a quick moisturizer that will give a natural glow to even the driest of skin, mix a few drops of almond oil with a tablespoon of water. Smooth over dry patches and watch them disappear.
For skin with a natural glow, you should exfoliate once a week. A great exfoliating mask can be made from 1/3 cup of oatmeal, 1/4 cup of honey and ½ cup of water. Cook the oatmeal in the water for 30 seconds in the microwave. Allow to cool and add the honey. Apply to the skin in a thin layer and allow to dry. Rinse well with warm water, for smooth, naturally glowing skin.
