It never fails to happen. You have an important date. Ladies, you want to impress your would-be suitor and you spend your entire paycheck on an expensive dress. Then comes the big night and you get all dressed up, then you notice that you have bits of hair poking out of your pantyhose. You decide to run the razor over you legs one final time. Then what happens? Parts of the area you have shaved are red and sore. You have razor burn, where you damaged the top layer of skin. Most likely you were shaving too fast or too hard. Gentlemen, do not think that you are free from the razor burn curse. You too can be dolling up for a date and decide to give you face one final shave. Gentlemen, you too can fall victim to the razor burn curse. Well, ladies and gentlemen, there is no need to fear, home remedies for razor burn is here.

The best home remedy for razor burn is to prevent it from happening at all. First of all, disposable is what it is. When you use a disposable razor, throw it away when you are done. Do not keep using it, no matter how much money you think you are saving. Also, it is better to user a razor that has a double or triple blade. When you use a single blade, you may miss some hairs. Then you will have a tendency to use more force than it is necessary to finish shaving.

Also use shaving cream when you shave. Never shave dry skin. Since soap dries out your skin, common sense will tell you not to use soap as a shaving cream. The best time to shave is after you get out of the shower because this is when your skin is the moistest.

Even if you use common sense while you are shaving, you can still fall victim to razor burn. If your skin becomes irritated, there are some treatments you can do heal your misfortune. Apply hydrocortisone cream to the red areas of skin twice a day. The pain and redness should disappear in two days. You can also apply acne creams that contain Benzyl Peroxide to the skin.

If the razor burn does not go away and the condition becomes worse, call your doctor. You might have an infection. Just remember the above are a few simple home remedies but you cannot let an infection get out of control.

Maybe in the future, you should invest in an electric shaver.
