American Indian Remedy for Asthma
American Indians say that by using Mullen and Sage in their tea, can significantly decrease asthma symptoms and relieve asthma. One person who tried this remedy said that just by drinking a cup of tea with Mullen and/or Sage in it has decreased their asthma symptoms so much that they only had to use their inhaler one time since using this home remedy. The Chihuahua Remedy
This one is going to sound weird but some asthma sufferers' have had tremendous luck with it. It has been suggested to buy a Chihuahua and keep it in the house with you. Apparently the dander from its fur is what brings relief to asthma sufferers'. Some people even say that by just sleeping with a Chihuahua, their asthma symptoms decreased significantly. The Steam Remedy
Using a steam room or dehumidifier can help decrease asthma symptoms and relieve them. If you don't have a dehumidifier and cannot access a steam room, just turn the hot water on in your bathtub or shower and shut the door for a few minutes. This will make the bathroom steamy. Just sit in the bathroom for a few minutes and breathe in the steam. Doing this should relieve your asthma symptoms or you can stick your head near the shower or bath where the hot water is coming out and breathe in the steam.
The Coffee Remedy
I mentioned this one in my last article but I want to mention it again. Apparently just by drinking hot and strong black coffee, this will open your airways and allow you to breathe easier. You should not add milk or cream because this can cause phlegm to build up in your throat and make your asthma worse. The stronger the coffee, the better.
The Wild Cherry Tree Bark Remedy
Wild cherry tree bark can be found at your local health food store. Make a tea out of the tree bark, add more or less bark for your taste. Drink this tea every day and this will decrease your asthma attacks.
The Hot Water Remedy
Whenever you feel an asthma attack coming on, pour hot water in a cup and drink it. Make it as hot as you can handle. This opens up your airways and relieves the asthma attack.
The Eucalyptus Oil Remedy
Pure Eucalyptus oil can be used to treat asthma symptoms by putting some on a paper towel or handkerchief and laying it by your head when sleeping. Just by breathing the Eucalyptus oil in can help relieve asthma symptoms as well as cold and respiratory ailments.
The Water, Salt, and Baking Soda Remedy
Take one cup of warm water, half a teaspoon of salt, and a pinch of baking soda and mix them up. You will then want to hold your head over the sink or toilet and run the solution through your nose. This solution will flush out your nose and open up your airways to help you breathe better and relieve your asthma symptoms. Make sure the water is warm or it will be uncomfortable.
