Home Remedies to Treat Your Acne

Does this sound familiar to you? You look in the mirror and you see several red areas on your face. You look closely at them and notice that there are bumps in these areas; some of these bumps are filled with pus. You have an inflammatory skin condition known as acne. What are you going to do? You are a good person, but people are not going to see your inner beauty because they are only going to look on what is one the outside. It is pretty sad, but true. You decide there is only one thing to do. You reach out with your fingernails and start to pop the pimples to get rid of the pus. You think this will help the problem go away. However, this only makes things worse. This bruises the areas of the face where the pimples are and can leave scars. Some pimple popping acne victims can have pocked marked skin for a lifetime. There are more effective remedies that you can try.

Do you know the motto '˜Fight Fire with Fire?' There is an acne motto "Fight Oil with Oil.' When your sebaceous glands produce too much oil, you get oily skin. This extra oil gets trapped in your pores and becomes hardened. This is how pimples are formed. Get a glass bottle that you can put a stopper on. Pour four ounces of apple cider vinegar in it. Add 20 drops each of Eucalyptus and Lavender Essential oils. Stopper the bottle and shake the contents vigorously for one minute. Take a cotton ball soaked in the solution and rub it on your face, making sure to get areas that are prone to pimples, such as your chin and your cheek. These two oils can be found in any health food stores. However, if there are none near you, lemon juice is another excellent astringent. Again, using a cotton ball, soak it with the lemon juice. Apply the mixture to your problem areas.

Oatmeal is not just for eating. It is an excellent way to exfoliate your skin. You need to fill a bowl with dry oatmeal and add a tablespoon of baking soda. Then add warm water until you get a paste-line consistency. Rub the mixture over your face and leave it on until it dries. While the oatmeal is removing dead skin, the baking soda is cleaning the pores.

Honey and apples are excellent for your face also. Grate up an apple into a bowl. Mix in four tablespoons of pure honey; use more honey as needed. Cover your entire face with the mask and let it dry. Let it sit for a half an hour and rinse it off.

Make sure you are drinking enough water each day. Just by consuming eight glasses of water, you are washing a majority of the acne producing toxins. Also, what you eat has a major impact on you skin. You should be eating more fruits and vegetables and less greasy, sugar laden foods and dairy products. I know milk is good for you. However, it contains hormones that can cause acne.

These are a few of the many effective home remedies to treat your acne problem. It is more effective than going to the drug store and purchasing these expensive acne medicines. There are too many treatments to list here. If you want a wealth on information go to google.com and type in "Home Remedies for Acne."
