Jet lag is medically known as desynchronosis. It normally occurs when you get on a plane and travel to another place that is in a different time zone. Your body is basically thrown out of whack because it will still think it is a certain time of day. For example, you get on a plane during the day and when you land at your destination it is already night. Your body will still think that it is day. When your body cannot adjust to the new times for eating and sleeping it is jet lagged. Some of the symptoms of jet lag include headaches, difficulty sleeping, disorientation, irritability, fatigue, ear aches and nausea.
Our body produces melatonin. This tells our body when it is time to sleep and when it is time to wake up. During the three nights before you travel, before you go to bed, take a .5 miligram tablet of a melatonin supplement. This will help your body adjust and reduces the chance that you will get jet lag.
Adjust your sleeping pattern a three days before your flight. For example, you may be leaving in the night and arriving at your destination in the morning. The way you help your body to adjust is to go to bed later and wake up later. By doing this, you are helping your body get used to the new time zone.
Jet lag is a medical condition that affects many people who travel to different destinations. Why let it ruin your vacation that you have been dreaming of for a lifetime. By helping your body get adjusted to the new time zone, the chances that you will experience the symptoms of jet lag are slim to none
