How to Treat Your Infection at Home

Amy Witthohn
Most of us know what its like to experience the pain of a urinary tract infection. For myself lack of medical insurance, and for those of you who either don't have time or don't want to go to the doctor. I have put together some home remedies and facts to get rid of and educate on a urinary tract infection.

A urinary tract infection - Bacteria called Escherichia Coli (E.Coli) live in the digestive system and spread to the urinary tract, and staph saprophyticus, cause most Urinary tract infections.

Some common symptoms of a urinary tract infection are: The constant urge to urinate, Painful and burning urination, blood in urine, cloudy urine, lower back pain and in some fever with nausea is an indication. We all know how unpleasant a Urinary tract infection is.

Home Remedies

Cranberry Juice- This worked for me I used the crangrape juice and alternated between the juice and water my symptoms were gone in about 2 days, I continued this process for the next 3 days just to make sure, I did not want it coming back.

Water- it works by flushing the bacteria out of your system, drink it and lots of it.

Baking Soda- mix one teaspoon with water this worked for me as well the pain subsided after about 24 hours, but as with the cranberry juice I continued taking this 3 times daily for the next 3 days, just to make sure.

Apple Cider Vinegar - It kills germs, nourishes the body and by adding 2 or 3 teaspoons of vinegar to a glass of water it rids you of your urinary tract infection, My grandmother swears by this one, she even suggests drink it once daily as a preventive measure.

Also if you want to prevent them from coming back aside from the vinegar, drink lots of berry juices like strawberry, blueberry , cranberry etc, I have been doing this since my last urinary tract infection and I have not had one for 2 years.
