Home Remedies Using Bath Salts

Virginia Chavez
After a long week in the piercing Northern California cold, the best medicine is a long soak with fragrant bath salts. Reap the rewards of water therapy for your tired cold skin and enjoy valuable aromatheraputic benefits.

Salt infused baths are known to help your body in a number of ways, but mostly by boosting blood circulation. Your body releases toxins in the process which helps speed up recovery of soar muscles, colds, even dry skin . Increased blood flow is also beneficial for thinking, learning, and your memory.

Didn't think a nice long soak was so good for your health now, did you? Aside from the benefits of the salt minerals, take fragrance into consideration.

Inhaling aromas such as eucalyptus can ease congestion symptoms. Other scents like lavender aroma can ease stress and encourage relaxation.

If any of you have trouble sleeping, take a deep breath of lavender oil or bathe with lavender infused salts before going to bed. You'll find that it has a major calming effect.

Choosing the right bath salt is key. It really depends on the mood you're going for. I use bath salts by The Salt Project. I'm a huge fan of staying energized, so I've been using a mix of their citrus scents. Their fragrances are scrumptious.

Choose wisely. Light a few candles. Take some slow deep breaths and relax.
