Most people know the benefits of fruit for health. An apple a day, so they say, keeps the doctor away. And the high mineral and vitamin content in an apple certainly does boost the immune system. The peel is rich in vitamin A and the fruit contains a mix of vitamins and folic acid helping to combat coughs and colds.
Fruit can benefit health in many ways. Strawberries, for instance are good for the liver, kidneys and heart. As a beauty aid, strawberries are good for skin disorders and sunburn and for healing wounds.
Peaches are rich in sodium, calcium and potassium. This fruit is good for the digestion and helps to cleanse the bladder and kidneys. Peaches are also a good pick-me-up.
Pomegranates are high in Vitamins A B and C and contain fructose, glucose, oxalic acid and tannis. This fruit is good for the heart, liver and kidneys. Dry powder made from the pomegranate's buds is used to cure diarrhoea.
While a good fruit laxative are figs. High in carbohydrates, sugar, protein and sugar, this fruit is good for constipation.
Avocadas are a good source of fibre and have many dietary benefits as well as helping to prevent strokes.
Pears help keep the body cool and have many health benefits including helping to regulate the bowels, prevent sore throats, prevent blood pressure and strokes and boost the immune system.
Bananas are a good energy booster. Rich in potassium and magnesium, this fruit can help regulate blood pressure and reduces cramping during exercise.
The natural healing qualities of pineapples include being of benefit to eye health and helping to defend against cancer.
The many properties of oranges have many health benefits including cancer prevention, helping to reduce the risk of heart disease and high blood pressure, helping to boost the immune system and prevent kidney stones.
Drinking fruit juice can also help health in many ways. To help boost your immune system, try a mix of banana, pineapple and milk for constipation. For helping to improve skin condition, try drinking a mix of orange juice, ginger and cucumber. Pineapple, apple and watermelon juice is good for the bladder and kidneys while apple and kiwi juice mixed with cucumber can also aid skin complexion.
