Home remedies and yogic asana for diabetes

Diabetes is the most common disease which is affecting today's masses. Stress, depression, lack of physical exercise, and overeating habit are the most common causes of diabetes. Diabetes can also be genetically inherited. Diabetes is an abnormal condition in which the blood-sugar level of your body gets increased. Insulin maintains the glucose level in the blood. In the absence of proper functioning of insulin hormone, glucose level in the blood gets increased.

Weight loss, problem in eyes, depression, and frequent urination are some of the most common symptoms observed in the diabetic patients.

Home remedies for diabetes

• Cinnamon is helpful in controlling blood-sugar level in the body as it has anti-clotting quality.
• Mango leaves act as a natural herb for diabetes. Take its (10-12) leaves and boil it in (4 -5) tea cup of water for 10 minutes. Allow it to rest overnight, and drink this in an empty stomach.
• Curry leaves are good for curing diabetes. Take its (5-10) leaves regularly.

• Fenugreek leaves are good for diabetes control. Regularly drink a glass of warm milk adding a pinch of fenugreek powder and turmeric powder, as it works wonder for diabetes.

• Eat black berry fruit as it is very good for curing diabetes.

• Eat low carbohydrates diet. Avoid rice, sweets, fried foods, white flour, mango, and alcohol.

• Eat potassium and vitamin rich green vegetables. Bitter guards, spinach, green salads are good for diabetes treatment.

• In an empty stomach, regularly you can take two leaves each of Neem and Bael fruit or stone apple.

Other complication may arise like, eye damage, liver problem, heart failure, if you do not take proper care of your health by eating right and doing some physical work. Regular walk, light physical yogic postures like, snake pose and leg lifting pose are beneficial in diabetes control. Alternate breathing exercise, meditation, sun salutation are good for maintaining proper blood sugar level in the body.

Two very effective yogic postures, for controlling diabetes and respiratory problems:

Frog shape pose or Manduk asana:

Frog shapes pose 1:

Step 1-Sit down in a leg bended pose on the two heels (leg palm), keeping knees little apart and look straight, as shown in the image. Then breathe-in and tightly close-pack your hand-palm, and keep it on both side of the naval, and gently apply pressure on stomach using thumb.

Step 2- Exhale slowly and bend your body down in front, keeping your eyes straight. (Remember, if you have backache, don't move down)

Step 3-Sit for few seconds in this position, and come back slowly to the normal position. Repeat it for 3-4 times.

Frog shapes pose 2:

Step 1- As above, sit down in a leg bended pose on the two heels, keeping knees little apart and look straight, as shown in the image. Then breath-in and keep the left hand palm over the right hand palm, and place it on the stomach, and push your stomach inside.

Step 2- Exhale slowly and bend your body down and keep eyes straight, as above. (Remember, while breathing out you move down, always.)

Step 3- Sit for few seconds in this position, and come back slowly to the normal position. Repeat it for 3-4 times.

Above yogic posture activates the pancreas, which leads to insulin production, so helpful in curing diabetes. This yogic posture is also helpful in weight control, and digestion.
