For the past three years I have been greatly affected by asthma. Sometimes attacks will be severe and last for several hours at a time with wheezing and coughing. I have been prescribed several medications, put on many different diets and told to do daily workouts, but none of these treatments seemed to help my asthma. So, I began doing research on naturally ways to prevent and treat asthma attacks and can up with my own home remedy that seems to be helping me. I am happy to share my asthma remedy with all of you asthma suffers too, but this remedy might not help some of you because everyone's body is different and responds to different treatments differently. You should also continue your regular asthma treatments while trying this remedy and consult with your doctor before using it to treat your asthma to make sure it is safe for you to do.
The ingredients needed to make my asthma herbal remedy are 4 black tea bags, 4 chamomile tea bags, and 1 tablespoon of honey, ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon, ¼ teaspoon of ground ginger root and 1 pinch of ground red pepper. These ingredients should be in their purest for in order for them to contain medicinal properties in them. The reason I use black tea is because it contains caffeine and caffeine is a mild bronchodilator that helps improve the airways naturally. The chamomile is used in the remedy to help relax the lungs and helps the adrenal glands produce cortisone to reduce the inflammation in the lungs naturally. Cinnamon is used in this remedy to treat asthma because it contains anti-inflammatory properties in it and it helps fight of the free radical cells that cause asthma attacks with the powerful antioxidants in it. I like to use honey in this remedy because it helps soothe the mucous membranes in the airways naturally. Ginger and red pepper spices are used because they help clear the congestion out of the lungs and also contain antioxidants that help relieve inflammation naturally. All these natural ingredients can be found at any local herbal shop.
Now to make this herbal remedy for asthma you will have to boil 3 cups of water in a tea kettle. While you are waiting for the water to boil place the black tea bags, chamomile tea bags, honey, cinnamon, ginger and red pepper into a tea pot. Once the water has boiled pour it into the tea pot with all the other ingredients and then allow the ingredients to steep together for 10 minutes to help draw out the medicinal properties and form a soothing tea, which will be the herbal remedy for asthma. When the herbal remedy is ready is will have a deep brownish color and warming sweet spicy taste.
To help treat asthma I pour some of the remedy into a tea cup and sip on it slowly until it is gone. Once that cup is gone I pour another and sip that one down too. I usually get about 3 good cups of this remedy out of the one batch I make. As I sip on the tea I feel the tightness and congestion ease away and the mucus in my lungs begin to thin out and within 20 minutes I am able to breathe freely again. However, this remedy only helps in mild cases of asthma for me. In order to prevent my asthma attacks I take this remedy in the morning with breakfast and at nighttime before bed. It is the only remedy so far that has prevented my asthma attacks naturally without harsh side effects and has helped treat my mild asthma attacks effectively.
However, those of you who are allergic to any of the ingredients in this remedy should not use it because it could cause your asthma to become worse, or cause other serve allergic reactions. Again, I would recommend you talk to your doctor before trying this remedy. Also keep in mind that this is just a remedy and it may not cure or treat your asthma as effectively as it does for me. If you do end up trying this remedy to help treat your asthma I do hope it works well for you too. I wish you all the best with getting your asthma under control so you can breathe freely and happily with ease.
