Our bowel movements are a way that our bodies eliminate waste and toxins from our body. Improper elimination creates a back up of these toxins which can cause diseases and illnesses to our body.
A healthy body eliminates its waste 3 times a day. Eliminating less than 3 times a week is classified as constipation. Incomplete elimination causes fecal matter to harden and dry in the intestinal tract. As the fecal matter remains more bacteria grows and is absorbed back into the body, thus creating illness and disease.
Improper diet and exercise are the two main culprits to creating constipation. A diet lacking in fiber and over saturated in processed foods and to little water intake is one of the reasons for poor elimination. Another problem is the fact that we are not active enough.
There is a simple answer for a home remedy for constipation. We need to make some changes in our lifestyle.
We first need to first start changing our eating habits. Instead of all the processed foods, gradually start incorporating more fiber in your diet. This can be done by adding more grains, nuts, fresh vegetables, and fresh fruits. If you try to make changes to fast, the reactions on the colon can be less than desirable. You will experience an increase in bloating and gas as the fiber tries to go through the colon. Also be sure and drink plenty of water. Water will work its way to the colon and aid in loosening the fecal matter.
Start moving around more preferably mild exercise. The natural movement of the body acts as a massager to the colon and the intestinal track. The intestines are approximately 25 feet in length. If the intestines are not being manipulated by movement, it is hard for the fecal matter to move through freely. The more sedate our lifestyle, the less the intestinal system functions properly.
There are other reasons for constipation, health condition, medicines and other illnesses, but diet and exercise are the two main culprits.
This may seem too simple for a home remedy for constipation, and it is. There is no need to buy over the counter drugs or buy colon cleansing products. Just add some changes to your life and you will be functioning properly.
