Home Remodeling with Valspar Interior Paint

Interior Home Painters

When it comes to home improvements, the fastest and easiest way to upgrade the look of your home is to add a fresh coat of paint. I have had experience from my past home improvement projects that not all interior paints add up to the fine quality that Valspar has to offer. I first learned this out the hard way when I began painting my first master bedroom. My project experience seemed easy at first, starting out by prepping the rooms wall with an average base coat of primer and picking out a fitting color for the top coat.

With the color rolled out on the wall I quickly realized two problems immediately after the paint was dry. The first problem that I had noticed was once the paint had dried, it was nowhere near the color of the paint sample that I had used. Then came my second issue, I had ran out of paint and needed to touch up some areas that had less coverage. I had to run back to the home store to purchase another half gallon of paint, when I returned home to go over the areas that needed more coverage the new mixture was a completely a different shade as the first coat. I then returned back to the home store to ask what was wrong with the mixture. The store claimed it was mixed to the manufactures specs and that it was ok and should match the first gallon. I disagreed and explained that is was not matching, so they decided to take back the first half gallon of paint and re-mixed another half gallon so I could get my job done correctly.

Well this second mixture was the same problem; once the paint was dry it was a few shades off again. I called the home improvement store this time to speak with a painting specialist and they gave me the best advice this time. The paint specialist told me that brand of paint was known to have a lot of inconsistencies when drying and mixing, so he had recommended that I return the paint for a refund and he would help me choose a similar color but with better quality paint. The store specialist recommended that I should try the Valspar paint brand.

So I did, I purchased the base coat and top coat by this manufacture and instantly noticed a huge difference in the quality. First off the difference in how much thicker the Valspar paint was compare to the other brand. This made a big difference in the finishing of the job. My first application of paint was all I needed to do and no touch ups were required. This paint took a little bit longer to dry but I'm guessing that's because the paint is a lot thicker. I finished my room much faster with this paint and also one gallon covered everything. Also the odor was almost nothing compared to the last brand. My overall rating for Valspar paint is very high; they have a nice big selection of colors, products, and great quality. The durability of this paint holds very nice, I have scuffed the wall a couple of times and had to scrub them off and the paint still looks new in the areas that needed washing.
