Home Sick Cure

There's No Place like Home

Jack Wellman

I have been gone for a while now and I am so excited to be back home. The seminary I am attending is one of the finest in the nation. It is Southern California Seminary and it is part to Dr. David Jeremiah's Shadow Mountain Church's program to equip the saints.

The best part is that it is 100% online. I recently attended Ashland Theological Seminary in Ashland, Ohio for a one week Summer Intensive where pastors have 3 credit hours crammed into their overload brains. My hope is that it doesn't all leak out. Rust never sleeps so iron sharpening iron has never been more necessary in this ever increasing secular world.

The growth of humanism, existentialism, multifaceted religions, and other belief systems are seriously competing with Christian beliefs now. More and more, the "only one way" message of salvation and to heaven (Acts 4:12, 16:30-31, etc.) is being seen as intolerant and politically incorrect. Nonetheless, I stick to the opinions found in the Word of God, the Bible. Galatians 1:10 is becoming my favorite passage: "Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ." Just watching and listening to the talk shows today you can see how empty and purposeless opinions are. I care only about One opinion...and it isn't mine (Prov. 14:12)!

So I hope you did not take my absence of comments personally. I do want to thank you all and I thank God for you all.

"Rust never sleeps, so iron sharpening iron has never been more necessary in this ever increasing secular world." Jack, these sage words of yours are among of the most intuitive I've ever, ever heard!

Christianity will never cease to exsist as it only takes one to believe and carry the message along. You are doing great work !!!

Glad to have you back Jack. I was gone for several months. There is no place like home and especially when there are people like you that write articles that encourage and challenge us.

Yep, its not about pleasing people. Its about speaking the truth- the truth that has the power to set the captive free and make us new.
