Homecoming

Garrett H.
Hello again, I seem to say

To faces all the same,

Showing the frozen teeth they have

Since I left.

This world has spun for me and

Like molds in my mind

You have held, barring captive

Your best and your not so.

I felt like crying for a day

Or more, noticing the groove underneath

Cling down, lock deep, wanting me

Whole and alive and treading backwards.

For this place I have not missed,

But you I have, and you,

And you with your loves and

You with the blood I share.

So I am back where nothing is forgotten,

Where no change is safe, save the unsavory fact

That I could not have known I'd

Miss you so much.
