Homecoming

I was standing outside of Las Flores when it occurred to me, in a few minutes, he will step out of that white bus. After seven long months, I'll get to see that beautiful green eyes again. I stood there in the midst of all these families who are ready to see their loved one just like myself. I looked around and everyone had that cheerful look on their faces. It was a very nice sight.

A few minutes passed and the bus still wasn't there. i tried calling him on his cellphone, no answer. I was getting anxious so I called again. He finally answered, "Hello." I asked him if they're almost done and he said, "Just a few more minutes baby."

I started walking around while clutching my purse. It was very cold outside. I started thinking of everything that has happened eversince he left. All those lonely nights hoping for a phone call. I stayed up until 3 o'clock in the morning waiting for his call. I just wanted to hear his voice. To know that he's safe. I'm so glad this deployment is over. Just this one.

My phone started ringing so I dug in my purse trying to find it. It was him. He said that the buses will be here in a few minutes. I started walking back to where everyone was at and I stood there. Waiting.

The very first bus turned onto the parking lot. Everyone started running towards it. The bus halted to a stop and the door opened. The first guy stepped out, it wasn't him. More and more people were running towards the buses so it was harder to see. I searched for him for a few minutes. I finally found him. I yelled out his name and those green eyes finally met him. We ran towards each other and had our first kiss. It was a great feeling. He's finally home!

I will never forget that day. The day I saw him step out of that bus. I was so happy, even more than when we got married. The love of my life was finally home. I never thought that day would come. The days passed by very slowly during those 7 months. I'm just glad he's finally home.

This was so cute. I actually cried a little bit. My marine is about to go on his 2nd deployment and I am just waiting and anticipating the homecoming. That was by far the best day in my life. I've been so worried about him leaving & this just reminded me how much I have to look forward to. So thank for reminding me. PS: Great page, you're a great writer
