Homecoming Themes to Rock the Night

Jenny Fick
School has started, Autumn is upon us, and that means one thing: Homecoming is just around the corner. Stand out from the crowd this Fall and have a fantastic time with one of the below Homecoming theme ideas.

Night on the Red Carpet

Decorations: Silver and black balloons, silver streamers hanging from the ceiling, and movie posters on the wall.

Attire: Evening gowns for the ladies and suits and ties for the gents.

Special Accents: A red carpet leading from the front doors into the dance with a photographer available to take "Red Carpet Photos," and miniature Golden Globes for the Homecoming Court.

A Fairytale Evening

Decorations: Baby blue balloons, glitter sprinkled on the tables, and a cut-out silhouette of a horse-pulled carriage on the wall.

Attire: Ball gowns for the ladies and suits and ties for the gents.

Special Accents: The Homecoming Queen can earn the title, "Princess of the Ball," while the Homecoming King can be titled, "Prince of the Ball."

The Roaring 20's

Decorations: Black and white color scheme with an Art Deco-style.

Attire: Flapper dresses and long strings of beads for the ladies and black and white suits and a fedora for the gents.

Special Accents: Feature music popular during that time such as Frank Sinatra or Louis Armstrong.

Sock Hop

Decorations: Hot pink and white balloons, pink table covers, and vinyl records on the wall.

Attire: Poodle skirts and mary janes for the ladies and leather coats and slicked back hair for the gents.

Special Accents: Play music from that era, such as Elvis and Nat King Cole, and have an all-dance "Do the Twist" participation.

Night at the Roxbury

Decorations: Black lights, beaded curtains in the doorway, and a few disco balls hung from the ceiling.

Attire: Bell bottoms and polyester for all!

Special Accents: Feature the soundtrack to the movie along with other popular disco tracks. In addition, if funding allows, rent a light-up dance floor.
