Homeland in Seminole, Oklahoma: A Review

Homeland in Seminole Oklahoma is an excellent place to shop for groceries, but also for a few everyday items. They have a lot to offer to a small town. They are located conveniently at 1701 North Milt Phillips in Seminole. They are in a shopping center with a few other stores, a bank, two restaurants, and an optometry office. When you first walk in through the sliding glass doors you will be overwhelmed with the smells from the Deli. You can also smell some of the bakery items. You will walk in and see some baked goods that they are selling. These are all very enticing and look so delicious.

The bakery offers excellent cakes that are very reasonably priced. Many of the businesses that purchase cakes use this bakery because it is affordable and they have many options to choose from. The deli has excellent food that is prepared daily. I really like this deli department because they have a special that feeds a family of four daily. An example is that on Sundays they offer and eight piece fried chicken meal with two sides and fresh rolls for under $10. We have stopped in here many times and ordered this as we can make two meals out of it. The produce in the store is very good, but sometimes it is also priced high. They are a little store, but they do offer a lot of variety compared to some of the stores in town. For example they carry pomegranates and star fruit.

There is only one bad section in the store, the meat department. I have had bad experiences with the meat department many times. I will not buy meat from this store ever again. When I was a teenager my mom used to shop here. We bought a 10 lb. package of hamburger meat. It looked really good on the outside, but when we got it home and unwrapped it to separate it and freeze it; we discovered that in the middle it was green! Someone in their meat department had actually taken rotten hamburger meat and put fresh around it to try to sell it. It was disgusting and wrong on so many levels!

The rest of the food is great though. I still shop here even though that happened. I have just never bought meat from them again. I do like that they offer double coupons up to $1 everyday. You can really rack up some savings at this store. If you plan your shopping trip around the sales flyer you can save even more. You can also sign up for a Homeland One Card, which will save you even more. This store also has a pharmacy to offer, which is a great alternative to the one at Wal-Mart. They have all your health and beauty needs at an affordable price. Overall this is a great store to use your coupons at, just don't buy the meat!
