Ingredients

Serves 14
3 Cups Sugar
3/4 cup Corn Syrup
3/4 cup Water
1/8 teaspoon Salt
3 Egg whites
1/2 cup Semisweet Chocolate Chips
24 ounces Milk Chocolate Chips

Directions for Homemade 3 Musketeer Bars

1
You'll want to start with a large saucepan and place it over medium heat. You can then continue by combining the sugar, corn syrup, salt, and water. Once the mixture begins to heat, stir until the it reaches a boiling point. Continue cooking using a thermometer to monitor the temperature.
2
At the same time as watching the sugar mixture boil, beat the egg whites until they stand stiff and form peaks. You'll want to use a metal bowl for this.
3
When the sugar mixture reaches 270 degrees, remove the pot from the heat and then pour the mixture slowly into the egg whites. Simultaneously, blend thoroughly with a mixer set on low speed.
4
Blend until the candy starts to look like a clay mixture. This could take 15-25 minutes.
5
At this time, you can add the semisweet chocolate chips, but remember that the candy must already be tough like dough when you add the chocolate. Adding the chocolate will thicken the nougat.
6
When the chocolate mixture is completely mixed and the nougat has thickened, compress it into a well-greased 9 by 9 inch pan. Refrigerate the candy for about 45 minutes. When the candy is completely refrigerated, cut the candy in half and then into sections making 14 bars.
7
Final Step!
Lastly, melt the milk chocolate chips and pour over the nougat carefully without melting the nougat. Let sit for about two hours, and you will then have your very own home made 3 musketeer bar.
