Homemade Baby Wipes

With the rising cost of products on the market it is nice to find a way to cut a few corners. You can do this by making your own baby wipes. They are economical and you should never run out. Another advantage is that you can decide what type of cleaning product that you want to put into your wipes. Now you don't have to worry about your baby being allergic to the wipes. You also don't have to worry about sharing your wipes with the rest of the family.

Items that you will need

Baby wipe container
Strong Paper Towels
Baby Bath Wash
Baby Oil
Water

Recipe for Wipes

Mix 2 tbsp. of baby bath wash with 1-2 tbsp. of baby oil. Add in about 1 1/2 cups of hot water.
Place paper towels in baby wipe container. Make the wipes whatever size that you prefer.
Pour the liquid mixture above onto the paper towels and close the lid.
Wait about 15 minutes and the paper towels should have soaked up the liquid.
Surprise!!! Now you have you own homemade baby wipes.

Try making them with the different scents of baby bath products. Lavender is nice. It smells so good. Or, you can get creative and make up your own recipe. There are many options. You can use essential oils, olive oil, tea tree oil. Some really nice oils are lavender and chamomile. Another addition that you can use is aloe vera and vitamin E. As I have stated before, you can be creative and have fun with this. It is also nice that you are saving money at the same time. Now you can spoil your baby with lots of toys.

Cost for making your wipes

You can purchase a roll of paper towels anywhere from $1 to $1.69 on an average. Many of the rolls contain anywhere from 80 to 120 paper towels. You can make two wipes per one towel. This will give you anywhere from 160-240 baby wipes. Add in the cost of the baby wash and oil which will be minimal. Your total cost should not be more than $2.00. Of course, watch for sales and use coupons and you will even pay less.

Note

If you should find that your baby wipes smell a little musty, only make a small amount at a time. You can pre-mix your solution and have it handy but don't pour it onto the paper towels right away. For that matter, you can also have your paper towels ready too.

I wish I had known of a homemade recipe when my kids were little. I probably spend hundreds on wipes for 5 kids. These would be good for anyone. I might make some to keep in the car. Nice job on this, and consider this a late welcome to AC. :-)
