Homemade Beauty Tips

As you get older you start to worry about the skin on your face more and more, after all this is the thing that ages you the most!

If you don't fancy spending a small fortune on products then here is a quick and very easy homemade beauty tip to keep your facial skin looking healthy and rejuvenated. Exfoliate daily!

Homemade Beauty Tips to exfoliate

Never use soap on your face! Soap dries out your skin and clogs up your pores. If you have naturally greasy skin you may see this as a bonus, but all it does it make the glands that produce the oil go into overdrive to try to compensate.

Before you start any facial beauty regime, homemade or otherwise, you need to open your pores. Your pores open when they are warm so the easiest thing to do is use steam or a hot washcloth. The pores on your face are what produce the oil that protects your skin from the elements. In an ideal world you would never even notice them, but a mixture of facial products and pollution leave many people with either skin that is too oily or too dry and when you don't treat them right they become clogged and enlarged.

Homemade Beauty Tips to combat large pores

To help your pores do their job of allowing oil to flow efficiently, you need to use a grainy exfoliant cleanser, which will scrub off the dry, dead skin that is clogging them up.

The best product I found for exfoliating the skin is honey. Smear a thick layer onto your face and leave it for about 15 to 20 minutes, rinse off with warm water, and then use cold water to close your pores again. It leaves your skin feeling wonderfully smooth, it smells fantastic and I rarely need to use moisturiser afterwards. If its been a while since you exfoliated use this method for 3 days in a row first and then just include it in your weekly facial regime.

If your on the go a lot and don't have much time to be lazing around for 20 minutes with honey on your face try using some oatmeal instead. Mix it up into a thick paste and using your fingertips rub it gently into your skin in a circular motion. Avoid the eye area when you use anything abrasive as the skin here is particularly delicate. Wash it off with cold water. This only takes a couple of minutes and leaves you feeling refreshed.

If you exfoliate regularly you will notice almost immediately the positive effects this has on your facial skin.

I used honey on my face last night for 15 minutes and I am amazed at the result. My skin is very soft and smooth. No dead skin patches left. I will continue to do this nightly for the next couple of days and see what happens. Thanks for this tip. Great information!
