Because most masks need to be left on for ten to fifteen minutes it is very important that you have your bed cleaned off as a nice place to lay back and relax, have your kitchen timer on your night stand so you can set it to wake you up in case you fall asleep! Just like any other time you get ready for any facial routine you will need to get your hair up off your face. It is best to steam your face prior to masking, but if you choose not to you will need to place a washcloth soaked in warm water on your face for about five minutes to open up your pores.
Prior to the above you will want to pick the mask recipe below that you want to use and get it all ready to go. Do not place mask directly around eye area or on lips, but cover the rest of the face, and neck if you want to. After your time is up you will want to rinse your face off with warm water, making sure to remove all remnants of the mask. Then pat dry.
Banana Oatmeal Mask
Mix half of a ripe mashed banana with about three tablespoons of instant oatmeal, plain. The oatmeal is great for dry, itchy skin. It helps healing also, so it is great for acne and blemish sufferers. Banana is very moisturizing and will help make your skin feel baby soft.
Strawberry Yogurt Mask
Simply mash up 3 ripe strawberries and mix in with a quarter cup of plain yogurt. This refreshing mask will help soften, tone and even tighten your skin. Great fro battling those pesky wrinkles! This same type of mask can be used with different fruits too. Try fresh squeezed lemon or orange juice mixed into the yogurt for a pore cleansing treat.
Honey, I Love You, Mask
Honey is great. You do not even have to mix it with anything. Just spread some evenly on your face and sit back and relax. It is amazingly moisturizing and it will, just like oatmeal, help heal acne problems.
