Twig Photo Frame
For this twig and bird themed wedding favor you will need several twigs, a hot glue gun, hot glue sticks, cardboard, scrapbooking paper matching your wedding colors, scissors, a ruler, and a pencil. Twine or ribbon is also a nice touch when creating this homemade wedding favor.
Start by measuring the cardboard to about half an inch larger than standard photo size on all sides. Use the pencil to mark the size correctly. Cut the cardboard to the right size. Glue the scrapbook paper on top of the cardboard. Cut the excess paper off of the cardboard.
Then cut or break the twigs to fit across all sides of the cardboard. Glue the twigs around the bottom and sides of the cardboard to create a frame. Then glue the twigs to the top of the frame. Remember to lay them slightly over the side twigs so there is space for the photo to slip into the frame. You can add ribbon around the twigs in various spots by tying it into a bow. When the glue has dried this homemade wedding favor is complete.
Bird's Nest
Another homemade bird and twig themed wedding favor is a candy filled bird's nest. For this favor you will need several thin twigs, a hot glue gun, hot glue sticks, tulle, ribbon, scissors, and candies that are shaped like eggs. You can also add a miniature fake bird at the end if you like.
Start by bending the twigs into a spiral. Add hot glue along the way to keep the shape of the twigs. Then keep adding twigs around the spiral until you have a diameter of about 2 or 3 inches. Then add twigs in a circle around the spiral to create the sides of the nest. Continue adding glue to hold the twigs together. When the nest has dried add the candy.
Cut the tulle into a circle or square twice the size of the nest. Place the nest in the center of the tulle. Pull the edges up around the nest. Tie with the ribbon. You can now add the fake bird to the tulle if you like.
A bird and twig themed wedding is a unique and fashionable wedding theme. These wedding favors are homemade and fun, and your guest will love having them for years to come.
