Homemade Games of Pin the Nose on Rudolph
Pin the tail on the donkey is one of the most common homemade party games for kids, and this fun and exciting activity can be altered to fit a Christmas Eve theme. Hang a big poster or drawing of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and give each of the kids a red paper nose with rolled masking tape on the back. Blindfold the children one at a time, and have them walk up to the picture and attempt to pin the nose on the most famous reindeer of all. Whoever comes closest to his nose wins this fun and exciting homemade game. Kids can play subsequent games of pin the nose on Rudolph without help from adults.
Play Homemade Games of Pass the Present
Homemade games of pass the present are ideal on Christmas Eve. It is an exciting way to give kids their Christmas Eve gifts. Wrap one gift for each child, and have the kids sit in a large circle on the floor. Play holiday music while the kids pass around one present at a time. Abruptly turn the music off. Whoever is holding a gift when the music ends gets to keep that gift, and they are out of the game. Continue games of pass the present until everyone has a gift. Make sure they are all the same to avoid conflict. If the presents differ, even in color, at least one of the kids will feel slighted, and no one should be grumpy or sad on Christmas Eve.
Homemade Word Games for Christmas Eve
When looking for homemade Christmas Eve games for kids, consider fun and exciting word games. Pass out papers with the words Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year at the top. Children that are old enough to spell can form words using the letters in the phrase. Whoever can make the most new words with the letters in the phrase wins the game. Consider having the kids play multiple homemade word games using different Christmas Eve phrases, and award prizes for participation. Everyone should feel like a winner on Christmas Eve, especially kids.
