Homemade Christmas Gifts for Children: Crayons
Do you have a lot of broken crayons and stubs that are difficult for the children to use? You can take your broken crayons and stubs to make a great homemade gift for children. The first step is to take all your broken crayons and take the paper off of them and break them up into small pieces. Next, you will want to preheat your oven to 150 degrees. Place your broken crayon pieces into mini silicone Christmas pans or any oven safe mold or you can line a muffin pan with foil and make round crayons. Bake the crayons for approximately 15 to 20 minutes or until the wax is melted. When all the wax is melted, take out the pan and let the crayons cool. After the crayons have cooled, just simply pop them out of the pan and they are ready and will makes a great homemade Christmas gift your child.
Homemade Christmas Gifts for Children:Felt Board
Felt boards make a great home made gift for children and are very easy to make. First, you will need to find some cardboard. An 11" x 14" is a perfect size. Next, you will want to decide on a theme for your felt board. A great idea for a felt board is grass, trees, and flowers. Take a piece of felt is a sky color blue and glue it to your cardboard. Cut out some green felt for grass and glue it to the bottom of the board. Next, you will want to cut out tree trunks that are brown, cut out green treetops, cut out a yellow sun, and cut out different color of flowers. Just let your imagination run wild and create whatever you desire on your felt board. You can also purchase stencils to help you cut out your shapes for your board. The last step is to use the hook sides of Velcro and add it to the backsides of your felt pieces. This will help make your pieces stick to the felt a lot easier.
