#1 Statue
Kids can make an awesome #1 statue that any man will be proud to keep on his desk, coffee table, or mantle, and this homemade Christmas gift can be a lot of fun for kids to make. For this project you will need polymer clay, a wooden block, glue, a paintbrush, and acrylic paint.
Kids should start this project by deciding what type of statue they are making. If the statue is for a fisherman a fish is appropriate, if the statue is for a movie buff a television will work, and if the statue is for a musician they can fashion a guitar or microphone. After you have figured out what type of statue you are making you can help kids sculpt an appropriate image. Remember that the image does not have to be perfect, and use sticks, knives, and pins to add details, and you can paint on the sculpture afterwards as well. Make sure the clay image will fit on top of your wooden block and bake it until it is hard.
When the clay sculpture has dried glue it to the top of the wooden block and paint it to add details. Remember to write the title of the statue on the wooden block to make sure the man who receives it realizes what honor he is receiving. This heartfelt and fun homemade Christmas gift idea is a fun and easy present that will allow kids be creative.
Custom Painted Tie
A homemade Christmas gift idea that is great for men is a custom painted tie. This is a great project for little kids right on up to teens. For this project you will need fabric paint, a white or light colored tie, and paintbrushes. Allow kids to express themselves by painting whatever nice images they like on the tie. You can also give the kids sponges and allow them to cut out shapes from them to make fun patterns on this tie. The man receiving this tie will be impressed with this fun homemade Christmas gift, and he will be proud to wear it.
Collage Mouse Pad
A custom collage mouse pad is an easy homemade Christmas gift that kids can make for the men on their gift lists. For this project you will need clear contact paper, photos, stickers, markers, scissors, glue, and a piece of foam. Start by gluing the images in a fun collage on the foam sheet. Kids can also write a message or color a picture with the markers to add to the gift.
Next cut two pieces of contact paper about an inch bigger than the foam sheet and help kids sandwich the foam art between the two pieces. This is done easily by removing the backing of the first piece of contact paper and placing the foam face down on top of it. Next place the other piece of contact paper on top of the first and trim the edges. This homemade Christmas gift is a great present that kids can make for the men they care about, and any man will enjoy using this custom mouse pad.
Making homemade gifts for Christmas is a great way to get kids involved in the holiday spirit, and men will enjoy the thought behind the gifts that kids have made for them; so try these crafts this holiday.
