Homemade Christmas Gifts for Your Wife

Tiffany Bell
Most of the time men need help finding gifts for their wives. Christmas can be really stressful on a man trying to find the perfect Christmas gift for his wife. What most men do not realize that with most women, it is the thought that counts and is usually more important than the actual Christmas gift. The best gift of all can be a simple homemade Christmas gift that a man spent time making for his wife. Even if you are not that handy or crafty, there are plenty of ways that you can put your skills to work this Christmas and make a homemade Christmas gift for your wife.

Here are just some ideas for homemade Christmas gifts to get you started.

1. Poem or Letter To Your Wife

This may be a hard gift for some men but others may be surprised at how the emotion of how much they love their wife comes out when they start out writing. Remember, your wife doesn't expect some award winning poem form you. Just knowing that you took the time out your busy life to tell her how you feel about her for Christmas is an awesome gift that any wife would love to have. Best of all, this is a real inexpensive Christmas gift, so even if you are on a budget this year, you can still get your wife the perfect gift.

2. Handmade Plague

If you are good with wood or you are crafty, think about making your wife a homemade plague for a Christmas gift this year. The plague can read anything that you want such as, "The World's Best Wife." "I Love You," and even a part of poem or song that you two share. Look up different designs and patterns online and you can find tons of different sayings, designs, and patterns for a homemade plague to make your wife.

3. Photo Album or Scrapbook

This homemade Christmas gift may be hard to keep from your wife, but it is well worth it. If your wife has several pictures of the family just laying around in boxes, make her a photo album or scrapbook for her memories. This is not very hard to do, as if you visit any local craft store and they have tons of supplies for making scrapbooks and homemade photo albums. When your wife opens this gift on Christmas day, you can expect some tears of joy from her.

4. Coupon Book

This is always a hit with wives. Make your wife a coupon book that has different coupons that she can use throughout the year. The coupons can include choirs that you will do for her, nice meals to restaurants and dates that you will go on, favors such as back rubs and massages from you and anything else that you think your wife would appreciate. You can make the coupon book creative by making a special coupon for each month or just allowing the coupons to redeemed whenever she wants. Again, this is another inexpensive homemade Christmas gift as all you need is construction paper and markers or pens.

5. Her Own Change Jar

Get a jar or even a coffee can from the house and decorate it with paint and other supplies. Write on the jar "Property of..." and then your wife's name. This is her very own change jar. This means that anybody in the house can contribute change to the jar, but your wife is the only one that gets the money at the end. She can choose to spend the change any way she wishes, on clothes, the spa, or for a nice meal out. Don't just hand your wife an empty change jar though on Christmas, make sure to fill the jar up with your change to get her started.

As a wife, I love gifts with thought behind them but I would perfer the poem or letter over anything else over your list.

My husband has given me plague before. The plague of a vacuum cleaner for Christmas. That brought down a huge plague upon our house. Your article is wonderful, though. Good job!

Yes, Bob, you should not give your wife a plague! Sorry about the typo.
