When hosting a Christmas party that includes kids, try playing homemade games. These homemade party games will help keep anxious kids busy until the meal is served and the gifts are opened. Even adults can join in on the holiday party fun.

Homemade Party Games of Pin the Star on the Christmas Tree

Kids love party games that involve blindfolds and luck, and pin the tail on the donkey has always been a popular choice, but not for a Christmas party. When planning a Christmas party for kids, play homemade games of pin the star on the holiday tree. Create a large drawing of a beautiful Christmas tree complete with ornaments. Draw and color a star for each child, and place rolled masking tape on the backs of each one. Blindfold the kids one by one, and have them take turns trying to pin the star on the Christmas tree. Whoever comes closest to the top is the winner of this fun and exciting holiday party game.

For added fun and games, have the kids design the ornaments for the paper Christmas tree. Provide them with plenty of construction paper, blunt scissors, non-toxic craft glue, crayons, and glitter. Host party games of pin the ornaments on the Christmas tree. The kids will have a blast trying to position the ornaments while blindfolded. It is much more difficult than it sounds, and the outcome is usually hilarious and lots of fun.

Allow the kids to trade in their prizes for other options when the games are over. This will keep everyone in the holiday spirit.

Begin by having the kids form a large circle on the floor. Play Christmas music while having them pass around the first mystery gift. When the music stops, whoever is holding the mystery gift can keep that gift, or they can pass it to the left and remain in the game. The person with the gift is automatically out, and they can enjoy opening their new present. The games end when only one person is left without a gift. They are given the honor of choosing from several wrapped options.
