Homemade Christmas Photo Card with Beach Scenery Using Microsoft Word

Thanksgiving is coming upon us and it is time to start thinking about your Christmas photo cards. There are many place you can go and have someone print the photos cards for you, but why not make a homemade Christmas photo cards. There are so many possibilities to create a homemade Christmas photo card. Here is a way you can create a homemade Christmas card using Microsoft and two photos. The first photo is your background and the second photo is your family, children, child, or even your pets. Here are step-by-step instructions on how to make a beach scenery homemade Christmas photo card. You can also choose to go to the mountains and have winter background scenery or whatever you desire for your homemade Christmas photo card.

The first step to create your homemade Christmas photo card is to take a photo or select a photo that you already have with a scenery background that you want in for your homemade Christmas photo card. For the picture in this article, I went to the beach and wrote Merry Christmas in the sand. It is best to go early in the morning to the beach when you are doing this when the water has washed away any footprints from the previous day and before any footprints can be made for that day. You can write whatever message you wish. Next, select a photo of your family, children, child, pet, or whom ever you desire in the homemade Christmas card.

Upload the photos from your camera to your computer and open Microsoft Word. Next, select Insert and Insert Picture, select your background scenery photo onto your Microsoft Word document and resize the photo to 5x7 using the top and side measuring tool bars. The next step is to go to insert and insert a text box. Within the text box, go to insert and select picture and insert your second photo of your family, children child, or pet. Center the photo wherever you would like. Print the photo on any photo paper and cut the photo out. You can even insert another text box and type whatever you wish.

Find some card stock 8-1/2" x 11" paper of any color you wish to have your photo on. I used cream in this photo, and open up another Microsoft Word document. Next, you will want to type in you greeting. You can find some great Christmas greetings at 123 Greetings website. Change your font and color to make it look good on whatever color card stock your chose. If you chose a color that is too dark, you can always print your Christmas greeting on a light colored paper and cut it will decorated scissors and tape it with Scotch Permanent Double Sided Tape on the inside of your card. You can find this tape at Walgreens or any other discount or grocery store. Adjust the greeting on the bottom of the page so when it prints out, it will be on the bottom of the page when you fold your card.

After you print out your greeting, fold the 8-1/2" x 11" paper in half and attach you photo with Scotch Permanent Double Sided Tape to the front of your card. In the photo I added some shells from the beach and used some clear tacky glue that you can get at any supply store. I used a little glitter for the outside of the card, but another option is to use real sand from the beach. You can brush on a little clear glue and add your glitter or sand.

Next, visit your local paper supply company store and purchase some envelopes to fit your card or you choose to make a homemade envelope. Karen Barnes has a great article on "How to Make Envelopes for Homemade Invitations and Cards".
