Magazine Chili Peppers
For this recycled material invitation you will need old magazines, a pencil, card stock, scissors, and glue. Start this homemade Cinco de Mayo party invite by writing or printing a message and the necessary details about the party on the card stock. Fold the card stock if desired.
Then look through the magazines and find pages that are mainly red or green. Rip out these pages and put them aside. Use the pencil to draw small peppers on the red paper. Also draw stems and leaves on the green recycled paper. Cut these images out and arrange them on the invitation.
When you are happy with the pattern and placement of the peppers. Glue the red paper to the party invitation first. Glue the stems on top for a realistic look. When the glue is dry your homemade Cinco de Mayo party invitation is ready to send.
Sombrero cupcake liner
You will need yellow, white, or beige cupcake liners, card stock, scissors, glue, and ribbon for this homemade Cinco de Mayo invitation. Write or print a greeting and necessary details on the card stock and fold it if you like.
Start this recycled craft by flattening the cupcake liner out. Cut the bottom third of the cupcake liner off and set it aside. Then cut a an oval shape from the remainder of the cupcake liner. Glue the bottom part of the cupcake liner to the invitation.
Cut the bottom third of the oval off to make the top of the hat. Glue a piece of ribbon across the straight bottom of the hat. Glue the ends of the ribbon to the back of the oval. Place the oval on top of the sombrero brim and glue it in place. This homemade Cinco de Mayo party invitation is easy and uses recycled materials.
Cardboard Maracas
Cardboard, card stock, glue, scissors, and markers are required for this homemade Cinco de Mayo party invitation. Start this recycled craft by writing or printing the part information and greeting on the card stock. You may also fold the invitation at this point.
Then cut two oval shapes and two long rectangles out of a piece of cardboard. Use the markers to color fun designs and patterns onto the oval shapes. Glue the first maraca to the party invitation. Start with the rectangle and add the oval on top. Remember to place the first maraca at an angle so you can place the other one next to it easily.
Glue the second maraca to the invitation and allow the glue to dry completely. This Cinco de Mayo craft is made from recycled materials, and your guests will love it.
