Sponge Paint Table Cloth
For this homemade Cinco de Mayo decoration you will need bright colored fabric paint, sponges, scissors, a table cloth, paper plates, and paper towels.
Start this table decoration by pouring the paint onto the paper plates. Then lay the table cloth out on the table. Cut the sponges into different shapes, and dab the sponge lightly in the paint. Press the wet sponge to the paper towel gently to remove excess. Lay the sponge on the tablecloth and press evenly.
Continue making various fun patterns on the table cloth. You can start your pattern in the center or you can make a border along the edge of the table cloth. When the paint is dry your homemade Cinco de Mayo decoration is ready for your party.
Chili Pepper Place Mat
You will need foam sheets, scissors, a pencil, glue, red and green construction paper, and clear vinyl paper for this homemade Cinco de Mayo table decoration.
Start this homemade craft by drawing chili peppers onto the red construction paper, and draw stems on to the green construction paper. Chili peppers can be drawn like elongated triangles with uneven edges, and stems can be small rectangles with half circles on one side.
Cut these shapes out of the construction paper and glue them in a pattern onto the foam. When the glue is dry cut two pieces of vinyl slightly larger than the foam sheet. Place the foam sheet onto the sticky side of the vinyl and place the other piece on top. This will sandwich the foam sheet and make the decoration easy to clean. Trim the excess vinyl and your homemade Cinco de Mayo craft is ready for your table.
Candle Centerpiece
For this homemade Cinco de Mayo table decoration craft you will need coffee filters, watercolor paint, paintbrushes, water, green pipe cleaners, a brightly colored plate, three pillar candles, and scissors.
Start this table decoration by using the watercolor paints to add bright colors to the coffee filters. If you wet the coffee filters first the colors will blur. Allow the paint to dry,
Place several filters on top of each other and pinch the center. Wrap the pipe cleaner around the pinched paper to secure it in place. You may want to add tape to the tissue paper first.
Wrap another pipe cleaner around the stem of the first flower to strengthen it. Then wrap the flower's stem around the base of the candle. Repeat this for all candles and place candles on the plate to finish this homemade table decoration.
Creating homemade table decorations for Cinco de Mayo is fun and easy. This crafts will make a wonderful addition to your Cinco de Mayo table décor.
