Homemade Daisy Chain

Make Your Own Daisy Chain

Mike C.
Offshore saltwater fishermen, here's how to make your own daisy chain teasers!

Materials Needed:

100 - 200# Mono (you choose size & color to suit your own desires though)

Sleeves & Crimps

Pack of 6 Skirts (I chose 5-6" skirts, You can get squid or octopus skirts.)

1 Cedar Plug (or any bigger lure of your choice, this lure will be the one on the end of the chain with a hook)

Slip Weights (matched to fit inside the squid skirt heads)

Optional Lure Bag for Storage

Instructions:

(1) Gather your materials.

(2) Begin by cutting off a long section of leader / mono / fluoro

(3) Place a weight into every skirt head - Make sure the holes of the weights are correctly placed so that you can thread your line through in the next steps.

(4) Slide sleeve + skirt + sleeve + skirt in that order until you've gotten your 6 skirts on the line. (These sleeves crimped will keep your skirts from sliding down and bunching up together on the line.)

(4) Now start with the first squid, which will be nearest to your main line. Crimp the sleeve and allow the skirt's lead to fall against it.

(5) Now repeat the crimping process for each squid/skirt, making them 12" or so apart.

(6) When you reach the end, make the 6th squid/skirt about 24" from the last lure, which in my case was a cedar plug.
