Hat
A red and white striped hat is an easy and fun Dr. Seuss birthday party favor to create. All you will need is red and white felt, scissors, needle, and thread. Start by cutting out a circle from the white felt. The circle should be about 3 inches wider than your child's head on all sides.
Then measure a circle slightly bigger than your child's head in the center of your white circle. Cut it out to make an O for the hat brim. Then cut 3 strips of red felt slight longer than the circumference of the inside circle. Cut 2 white strips of equal size. Finally cut a red circle slightly larger than the inside circle of the white circle.
Sew the strips of felt together and make sure to alternate colors. Then place the outside of the strips facing each other and fold it in half. Sew along the length of the felt to create the base of the hat. Place this section on top of the white O and sew it in place. Then turn the hat inside out and add the red circle to the top. Sew the edge together to complete this Dr. Seuss party favor.
Thing 1 and 2 Photo Frame
Things 1 and Thing 2 are popular Dr. Seuss characters, and you can create the perfect photo frame using them. Find clip art of thing 1 and 2 on the Internet. Print several of these images out. Also print out several photos of your child's face.
Use a pen knife to cut out both Things' faces and glue your child's face in place of Thing 1. Then glue the image to a piece of cardboard but leave the top edge glue free. Kids can add their own face to the other Thing's face for a personalized Dr. Seuss photo frame.
ABC Door Hanger
Create door hangers in the style of Dr. Seuss' book about the alphabet. For this homemade party favor you will need foam sheets, foam letters, glue, fabric paint, pencils, ribbon, and scissors. Cut the foam sheets into rectangles. Then cut holes in the top to hang the birthday favor with.
Next use the pencil to write the party gift recipient's name onto the foam sheet. Also write words that start with their first initial. The glue the foam letter to the beginning of the name and trace the other words with the fabric paint. When it is dry tie ribbon through the holes and this homemade favor is done.
Creating birthday party favors is the best way to add that personal touch to your Dr. Seuss themed party. These homemade gift ideas are easy to create; so try them yourself.
