Children love making cards and gifts for the people they love. It allows them to be creative and come up with their own ideas. This hobby can come in handy when Father's Day rolls around. Children can sit down and create homemade gifts such as cards, keychains, and even baseball cards! A trusted adult may need to help kids with a few of the gifts, but there are others they can do on their own as well. With or without help, the gifts will look great and Dad will love them!
If you and your little one would like to try this out, here are a few homemade Father's Day gift ideas for kids. You can run these ideas by your child and see what he or she wants to do!
Father's Day Card.
Creating homemade cards is popular among children. They can use their imagination to come up with designed and messages for their father. Provide them with the paper and art supplies and let them do the rest! The pictures children draw on the card can include fishing, sports, cars, tools, and even hearts (to show they love their daddy). The messages can include "Happy Father's Day!" and "I love you". Children can keep it colorful or only use their daddy's favorite colors. This will be a very easy homemade Father's Day gift for kids to make.
Little Toolbox.
This homemade gift may take a little time to do, and they may need your help with it. Children can decorate a wooden box, cardboard box, or small tin can (round or square) with paint, markers, or stickers. If you decide to add handles, you can attach thick ribbon with glue or tape. But attaching handles is completely optional. You may even be able to find compartments to place inside of the box. Let any glue or paint used completely dry. This can be daddy's new little toolbox! What he will be able to keep in it will depend on the size. But he will at least be able to keep smaller tools inside of it, such as small screwdrivers, pliers, nails, and screws. He can also use it to hold office supplies, fishing supplies, or whatever he wants!
Sports Card.
This will turn out very cute and there are two ways to do this. The first way would be to print out a picture of the dad. Glue it to a piece of cardboard that is the same size as the photo. Write out his name (or nickname), draw a logo, and add whatever you want on another piece of paper (instead of drawing on the actual photo). You may even want to use the last two digits of his birth year as his player number. When you are done, carefully cut out the designed you have drawn and tape or glue them over dad's photo (be sure not to cover his face). You and your child can even split it up, they do the decorating and you do the cutting and pasting! When everything dries, turn the card over. Let your child write out a Father's Day message or a short biography for the card. You and your little one have just created a sports card (such as a baseball card) with dad's picture on it!
BBQ Apron.
If dad enjoys barbequing and cooking, then your child can decorate a BBQ apron for him! You can find a plain white apron in stores, or check craft stores to see what they have. You and your child can use fabric paint or fabric markers to decorate the apron with little messages or graphics. The messages can include "World's Greatest Dad" and "World's Greatest Cook". You can even get finger paint and let your child (or children) place his or her hand-prints on the shirt!
Alternatives for this craft can include decorating a white t-shirt, hat, or other apparel. The messages and designs may vary per apparel.
Keychain.
Whether it is house keys, car keys, or work keys, dad can never have enough keychains! You and your child can use beading kits and keychain art sets. Check craft stores, toy stores, and any store that sells either for keychain making kits. Some of the kits or beading sets will come with enough supplies to make more than one keychain. Your child can draw pictures and write messages for a few of the keychains. You can even print out photos of your child (or children) and the family to place inside of the keychain!
Coming up with homemade Father's Day gifts for kids is pretty easy. Just think about Dad's interests and hobbies and see what kind of gifts you can help them create that relate to it. You may need to purchase additional supplies for a few of the gifts, but they are affordable and children will still be creating the gift (or gifts) themselves.
Kids can create as many Father's Day gifts as they would like. Some children may only want to create a card. Other children may want to create a card, keychain, and little toolbox. Father's Day only comes once a year, so be prepared to help your child go all out for his or her father. Dads enjoy receiving homemade gifts from their little ones, and he will treasure these gifts forever!
Dads are not the only one who will enjoy this holiday. Their children will be very excited to give their cards and gifts to their father and watching him open them! Homemade Father's Day gifts may end up becoming a yearly tradition! Happy Father's Day!

Post a CommentGreat ideas. As far as Tough Enough goes Luke is my least favorite. Based on what I’ve seen on the show he seems like a jerk. Hopefully, his experience will catch up with him. He has had six years of experience compared to Andy’s six months. I think if Luke was anything special the WWE would have found out about him in those six years.
