You Can Meet Your Goal!

Choosing fundraiser items isn't an easy task, but with help from those who've found success with specific fundraiser items, you can choose fundraisers that are sure to sell. I've helped a close friend and a relative with fundraisers for various causes, and the following homemade fundraiser items were highly successful. Once we were out of ready-made fundraiser items we took orders, and we could barely keep up with them. Everyone who purchased our fundraiser items was pleased, and word spread quickly on the items we were selling. The following homemade fundraiser items are sure to sell, and with careful planning and promotion, your fundraising efforts are sure to be a big success!

Chocolate Coffee Spoons

Many people like flavored coffee, and even those who don't will enjoy chocolate covered spoons that can be used to add more flavor to hot cocoa or coffee, or they can be enjoyed just as they are. These homemade fundraiser items are very easy to make in large quantities, they're affordable for those who want to contribute, and they're sure to sell as fast as you can make them.

To make dozens of homemade chocolate coffee spoons that are sure to sell at your next fundraiser you'll need chocolate chips in varieties of your choice, plastic spoons, inexpensive clear plastic wrap, waxed paper, and narrow ribbon or raffia. Keep in mind, you can make many different flavors considering the many different types of chips available for baking and candy making. You can make spoons covered in white chocolate, peanut butter chips, cherry chips, milk chocolate, or semi-sweet varieties. If you want to get creative, you can make swirled spoons that are sure to sell like homemade hotcakes!

Begin by melting chips of your choice in a microwave-safe bowl, and once the chocolate is smooth and well blended, begin dipping the spoons. Allow the chocolate to set and completely cool on waxed paper. Once the chocolate has cooled, wrap the ends of the spoons with squares of plastic wrap. Tie the tops with colorful raffia or narrow ribbon, and they're ready to sell at your fundraiser. Most people will be willing to pay 75 cents a piece or 2 for $1.25 for these unique and tasty homemade treats.

Sub Sandwich Sale

Everyone loves homemade sub sandwiches, and they're sure to sell as fast as you can make them at your next fundraiser. Choose meats, cheeses, raw veggies, and condiments that are lower in price but not lower in quality, and you're sure to sell all of the sub sandwiches you make. Who wouldn't want to pick up sub sandwiches for the family on a Saturday afternoon and help a very special cause? This fundraiser worked very well for my particular group, and I and I highly recommend this fundraiser idea.

Begin by coming up with a sub sandwich menu, and price the ingredients you need for the fundraiser. It's worth requesting a discount for ingredients from local retailers in exchange for free advertising, and many businesses are willing to contribute by offering items for fundraisers at discounted prices. My local grocer offered all of the sub sandwich rolls my group and I needed at no charge, and gave us a deep discount on the rest of the ingredients. The more you save the more you earn, and it never hurts to ask!

The next step is to begin taking orders for homemade sub sandwiches. Either request that orders be paid in advance if they're going to be picked up, or offer to deliver for a slightly higher fee. Those who want to help in your fundraiser efforts would be more than willing to pay $4.00 or more for a homemade six-inch sub sandwich made to order. Consider offering 2 sandwiches for $7.00, or set your prices accordingly. This bargain can't be beat, and your homemade sub sandwiches are sure to sell.

Beaded Bracelets

Those looking for homemade fundraiser items that are sure to sell can find success in the bead aisle of their local Wal-Mart or craft store, and many people can get involved in this fun and creative homemade fundraiser. Beaded bracelets sell like hotcakes, and although it takes an initial investment, it's one that won't bring disappointment. My sister's church group made and sold homemade beaded bracelets at their last fundraiser, and they surpassed their goal.

Locate beads for your fundraiser either online, or visit your local craft store or discount retailer that sells craft supplies, and ask if they're willing to provide a discount toward your cause. The next step is to get group members together and host a bracelet making party. It's a fun way to get together and work on something unique that's sure to sell at your next fundraiser.
