There are many gift ideas that coffee cups will come handy. You can fill a coffee cup with a hot chocolate pack or two and a spoon. You might could even add a few marshmallows in it. Wrap it up using colored cellophane and then tie with curly ribbon.
For Valentine's Day, Easter or any themed holiday you can fill the mug up with themed candy or put a small votive candle in it with candy around it. I have even put a small rolled hand towel inside.
If you have plain colored or white coffee cups you can have the kids paint them or they can decorate them with stickers. Kids can use the decorated mugs to hold pens, pencils, scissors, rulers and other desk accessories. They can also decorate coffee mugs to give them as gifts for the Grandparents.
Extra coffee mugs can also come in handy in your craft or sewing room. They are great for holding scrapbooking scissors and markers. In your sewing room they can hold scissors, tape measure and other sewing items.
If you have several gifts you need for a work christmas party, teachers or family members and you don't have enough coffee mugs at home you can check several other places. Goodwill, dollar stores and yard sale will have a variety of coffee mugs to choose from for a minimal cost.
Another use is to plant herbs or small flowers in them. They probably won't keep very long before you have to move to a bigger size, but they are good for plants that are just starting out. They also make good gifts too.
Another great gift idea using a coffee mug is to buy a small bag of coffee and place it in the cup. This makes an inexpensive gift for coworkers and friends.
You can add tissue paper or streamers inside of the mug and sprinkle candy around. You could also use tea instead of coffee.
My kids use coffee mugs to eat soup. It is the perfect size for them and the handle makes it easy to carry and it isn't too hot for their hands.
These are just a few simple ideas how you can use your extra coffee mugs. Don't ever throw one away! You never know how or when you may need to use it.
