Homemade Haircare: Natural Conditioner Recipes

Mayo & Avocado

1 small jar real mayonnaise
1/2 avocado

Squish ingredients together in a bowl until the mixture turns a minty green colour.
Smooth all over hair.
Cover you head with a shower cap or plastic wrap and leave for 20 minutes.
Rinse well. Shampoo if necessary.
Use fresh.

Rosemary
Avoid if pregnant, have high blood pressure, or have epilepsy.

2-5 drops Rosemary essential oil
1 teaspoon carrier oil (sweet almond or olive oil)

Blend both ingredients together well.
Dampen hair before applying.
Massage in hair well.
Wrap your head in a towel or shower cap and leave for 45 minutes.
Shampoo and rinse well with cool water.

Tropical

1 avocado
coconut milk

Peel and mash the avocado. Mix with some coconut milk and mash together until smooth and as thick as shampoo.
Comb through hair and let sit for 10-15 minutes.
Shampoo out and rinse with cool water..

Egg Conditioner

1 teaspoon baby oil
1 egg yolk
1 cup water

Beat the egg yolk until frothy. Add the baby oil and beat again before adding to the water.
Massage into scalp and hair.
Rinse well.
Use fresh

Tonic Conditioner

2 teaspoons Gin
2 egg yolks

Beat the egg yolk until frothy. Add the Gin and beat again until foamy.
Massage into scalp and hair.
Rinse with warm water.
Use fresh.

Super Conditioner

1 egg white
3-4 tablespoons coconut oil
juice from 1/2 lemon
1 banana, mashed
3-4 tablespoons yogurt

Mix all ingredients.
Apply to hair and leave for 15-60 minutes.
Rinse with warm water.

Banana Conditioner

1 banana
2 tablespoons olive oil

Mash the ingredients together until smooth.
Apply generously over hair.
Cover with a shower cap or plastic wrap and wait for 20-30 minutes.
Shampoo out and rinse well.

Jojoba Conditioner

1 teaspoon Jojoba oil
1 cup warm beer

Mix indredients well.
Massage into scalp thoroughly and leave for 15-20 mintues.
Rinse well.

Vinegar Rinse

4 cups hot water
3/4 cup vinegar
1/4 sprig Rosemary (optional for fragrance)
1 bag camomile tea (optional for fragrance)

Mix ingredients together and let sit for about 30 minutes.
Apply to hair and leave for 5-10 minutes.
Rinse with cool water.

Butter

1 pat of butter

Allow the butter to sit at room temperature for a while to soften it up.
Work into your hair like a normal conditioner,
Cover with a shower cap or plastic wrap and leave for 30 minutes.
Shampoo out and rinse well.
