Homemade Halloween Cupcake Recipes by Food Network Chefs and Duff Goldman

Karen Barnes
I remember having to make cupcakes for Halloween parties while my daughter was in grade school every year. Even when she was in high school, certain groups she belonged to would need cupcakes for Halloween events they were doing to raise money for their next trip or something.

It's been several years since I have had to bake three or four dozen cupcakes for school events. I have heard some schools have quit doing the Halloween parties in grade school, but I do know there are still some schools in the area I live that still hold school Halloween parties and events.

Sometimes the local PTO's will have Halloween events for the kids to attend. Often these PTO's will ask for help with baked goods for prizes for some of their games. This is where the cupcake recipes can come in handy.

Also, when I worked at Albertson's and Dillon's in the bakery departments, we would decorate several hundred cupcakes for Halloween parties at schools, work places, and parties outside of school and work.

The store bought decorated Halloween cupcakes were white or chocolate based cakes with white, black, or orange frostings with sprinkles and cupcake picks. The cupcake picks would be spider rings, pumpkin rings, Happy Halloween picks with black cats, pumpkins, witches and other Halloween related themes.

Looking at the store bought decorated Halloween cupcakes can give you a few more ideas on how to decorate the homemade decorated cupcakes. There are places you can buy these plastic pieces for your cupcakes.

Duff's Eyeball Mini Cakes

This is a neat way to make cupcakes for Halloween. Even though you will only get a dozen eyeball mini cakes out of this recipe, you could make enough batches for treats for kids you know or a kid's Halloween party.
