It can be a lot of fun to make homemade Halloween decorations with your kids. Not only will you be decorating your home, but you will be creating great memories to share with your children for a lifetime. Homemade Halloween decorations are inexpensive and easy to make. Below are some ideas that children of all ages can enjoy.

Hairy Spiders

You can create dozens of hairy spiders to place throughout your home. These hairy creatures are very easy to create.

Items that you will need:

Black pipe cleaners
Black pompoms
Red craft felt
Craft glue

The first thing that you want to do is create 8 spider legs with your pipe cleaners. Make them any size that you desire as long as they are all equal in size. Next, take two pompoms. Glue them together. One of the pompoms represents the body of the spider and the other pompom represents the head of the spider. Once the pompoms have dried, you can then attach the legs of the spider. Place the legs as desired around the pompoms to give the effect of a crawling spider. Glue the legs into place. After the glue dries, you can make two red circle eyes to glue to the face of the spider.

Make as many as you want and place them throughout your house. Have fun making different colored spiders as well. They are fun to attach fishing wire to and hang through out your home as well.

Flying Black Bats

These flying black bats are easy to create and very inexpensive. There are only a small amount of items that you will need to make them.

Items that you will need:

Black construction paper
Yellow construction paper
Clothespin
Craft glue

The first thing that you are going to do is draw out the bats body. What you want to do is draw an oblong shape on your black paper. At the top of the shape you are going to make pointy ears. After this is completed you will do the same at the bottom of the shape. This will represent that bat's feet. Next, you are going to create wings for the bat. Create your wings as desired and glue them to the back of the bat's body. Go ahead and cut out your paper pieces. Once the glue has dried you can take yellow construction paper to create eyes for your bat. Cut the eyes out and glue them to the face of the bat. When the glue has dried you can attach your clothespin to the back of the bat. Now you can hang your bat wherever you would like in your home.

Pumpkin and Cat Faces

The decorations are so cute and very fun to make. Your child can put whatever expression that he wants onto the face of their creation.

Items that you will need:

Black construction paper
Orange construction paper
White construction paper
Craft glue
Fishing wire

The first thing that you are going to do is to fold 4 sheets of construction paper accordion style. Depending on whether you are making the pumpkin or the cat you will use orange or black construction paper. When you have finished folding the paper accordion style, you will glue the sheets together to create a circle. Next, hand your child the white construction paper. While the glue is drying your child can be making the eyes and the mouth for their creature. Let them have fun and be creative. Cut out the eyes and the mouth. Glue them onto your circle. Once the glue has dried, you have a cute little pumpkin face and a scary little cat face. At the top of the faces, punch a whole and attach fishing wire so that you can hang the faces throughout your home.

As you can see, homemade Halloween decorations can be inexpensive and easy to make. They can give your children hours of fun as well as wonderful memories to share throughout the years. I know that your child will brag to all of their friends about the wonderful and scary decorations that are hanging throughout their home.
